I have visited the British Museum Website; the purpose of this website is to exhibit old collected materials, the website displays various items of things from different periods in various places. It also explores the arts, world culture to the viewers. It helps audiences see them and experience them differently; this approach not only creates new learning opportunities for visitors, but also represents a way to recoup prior investment in digital assets management.

The content of website is excellent, information space revealed itself to the viewer just as architectural space unfolds as one walks through a building. The museum leads viewers to go into detail of objects. Every object has a well illustrated story, from its beginning to the present. It is designed for easy to use, I clicked on the explore icon from the main page, the explore page displayed every thing that I needed to know, it could be either from Roma portraits to Chinese Ceramics.

The entire world culture, arts are compressed into one simple explore page. This page also provides the online tours to help the viewers to discover deeper detail in object that they viewed. In additional, the displayed objects connected with other to create stories, the designers of this website have a good understanding of the collection, a way of generating extremely high-quality digital images, and a good story to engage visitors.

Viewers can access to many or all of the items in a collection, and can explore by following their interests. With the help of searchable catalog, they can also find information and images without the necessity of traveling. The Web use in general promotion, showcasing permanent and temporary exhibits, and providing accesses to catalogs of material are well documented. In addition, multiple stories can be told within the online exhibit built from the permanent collection, leveraging existing material housed as digital assets. The British Museum website is a good learning source, it provides all information for all age. Kid can have theirs own section to develop under learning icon, adult also have their own section to view.

Beside that, this page provides information about research projects that Museum staffs are working on, I could check to see what their projects about by clicking on any location on map provided. It was so cool, this website made viewers to think differently about the world culture. I visited this section couple of time, I was so engaged myself into it. I looked at so many objects, I read some stories about those objects.

The websites give a refreshing first impression. It was design in an important way to show the quality of the museum, and should therefore have certain characteristics. The communication information was so clear, it was easy to navigate, and viewers can find what they are looking right away.

It was designed in multiple colors. The home page was designed in dim colors; it attracted the viewers as an open way to enter the museum. The black color used in the combination with other colors, black made colors more intense and draw attention to detail on webpage.  The pages fit enough into viewers’ vision, it help viewers focus on what they are looking at without stretch their eyes. However, the color scheme in “What’s new” section of the page had a little problem, the color changed from light purple to light blue while the rest of them consistent with color from the previous page.
